Hi friend!

My name is Theresa, and I am a twenty-something year old navigating a life filled with goodness and beauty within teaching, being a wife and mom, creating art, reading, writing, drinking coffee, and seeking truth.

One Year Later

One Year Later

This week, in preparing for the one year anniversary of my dad's unexpected death, we discovered a little gift that we had given my dad recently for Father's Day. In it, we had all written "Thank You" to him for all of the different an beautiful ways he has blessed us as a husband and dad. We decided to read some of these little notes as we gathered around his graveside. Even though our pain is still very fresh and our wounds still sting, I cannot help but find myself in an achingly grateful state of heart for incredible priviledge of knowing such an incredible man. So, to share...

From Jennifer:

Thank you for all the ways you think of us before you, day in and day out.

Thank you for answering your phone at work despite knowing that you have an irrational person on the other end.

Thank you for not leaving in the morning until you’ve prayed over me.

Thank you for giving me a kiss even if I am anxious, irate, or impossible.

Thank you for expecting the bare minimum from me when I have headache or feel sick.

Thank you for undertaking more housework (and doing it well) more than any other male I know.

Thank you for managing to give each child some of your undivided attention at some point in each day.

Thank you for going to a Michael Card concert (sober, without knowing any of his music).

Thank you for great conversations with my dad.

Thank you for welcoming Christopher into the world with tears of joy and making sure Grandma Corgan was right there to share that moment.

Thank you for the keen, heartfelt interest you’ve had in keeping a close relationship with him, sharing his love of sports, politics, and history, and having meaningful, challenging discussions.

Thank you for your heart to heart connection with each and every one of our children and the deep appreciation of their special gifts.

Thank you for gracing me with kindness when you are not met with the same from me.

Thank you for tolerating a full herbal compounding pharmacy in our kitchen.

Thank you for praying the St. Joseph’s prayer and his invocation to be a great dad.
